Use the pull-down menu labeled "Tech Guide" to access all pages.

Current Tech Guide users no longer need to log into the site to access content.  However, access to free electronic publications is being discontinued as a result of increased costs to develop and maintain WWPA's technical library.

WWPA electronic publications will be available to download using PayLoadz and can be purchased using a PayPal account or credit card. (Individual patterns and spans will continue to be available as free PDF downloads)

If you have further questions about the new WWPA Tech Guide please email us at info@wwpa.org.

This guide was created to provide basic technical information on Western lumber products produced by WWPA Member companies

While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the Western lumber information included in this Online Technical Guide, WWPA accepts no responsibility for errors and/or omissions in the information presented herein, or for errors which may occur in downloading and printing any of the files, nor any liability resulting from the use of this information for design and construction applications.

The WWPA Online Technical Guide is copyrighted by Western Wood Products Association in Portland, Oregon. Information for the WWPA Online Lumber Technical Guide is drawn from the Association's technical publications, including Western Lumber Grading Rules, Western Lumber Product Use Manual and Western Woods Use Book. These and other publications are available for purchase from WWPA.

For a full description of publications available, digital versions of the publications and links to purchase printed editions, go to the Publications section. WWPA now offers digital supplements to the Western Woods Use Book through its Tech Notes series, which can be downloaded as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. Go to the Tech Notes section to review the supplements available. The charts, tables and literature titles listed in the preceding sections are presented as PDF files, which require Adobe Acrobat (tm) to view on-screen and print.
